  • South Carolina played the Vols tough in both games last season. In fact, both games against the Gamecocks were decided by ten points or less.

The game in Knoxville was a three-point game, but the Vols pulled it out in the end 70-67.

Bowden finished the game attempting ten shots from the three-point line. Ten attempts would end up being the most three-point attempts of the season.

He shot 40 percent from beyond the arc leading to his 14-point game. He also added three assists and five rebounds.

At the 12:37 mark, Bowden created a steal that led to a three-point basket to move the score 53-45 Vols lead. I remember watching the game thinking it was over but then I remembered despite how good the team was last year they didn’t close games very well.

Bowden’s 14 points can’t be overstated especially after he was coming off a five-point game against Alabama where the Vols got utterly embarrassed 78-50.

Moving on, Bowden had a good game against the in-state rivals, Vanderbilt Commodores. Like most other players, Vanderbilt was a victim of good games from the Vols’ players.
