Rebounds: 4
Points: 18
Finally coming in at the top spot on our list was the game on November 29 against the Mercer Bears. Yes, it was a nonconference game, and yes it was against the Mercer Bears. However, they are just a couple of years removed from beating Duke in the NCAA Tournament.
All four of Bowden’s three-point shots came in the first half to help get the Vols rolling. One of the problems Tennessee did have last season was getting off to slow starts.
Bowden finished the game with 18 points in 27 minutes of action. He also added two assists and four rebounds.
Moving forward to next season, the Vols are going to be stacked. Some could argue that Lamonte Turner played well enough last season to start most games. However, the lineup was working, so why change it?
Bowden brings a lot to the table and is a vital piece of the puzzle. This 2018-19 team could do some significant damage next season if everyone works together like they did last year. The Vols will need Bowden to become of a more consistent threat and continue to improve into the dynamic scorer he can be.
