Tennessee Football: Ranking games on Vols schedule by difficulty
No. 1 – October 29 vs. Alabama
No surprise here but Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are the most challenging game on the schedule this upcoming season. Georgia and Alabama were real close when making this list. However, we gave the nod to the Crimson Tide because Nick Saban is still the best coach in college football.
This match-up is intriguing for obvious reasons. Could Jeremy Pruitt become Saban’s first assistant to take him down? Let’s be real for a second; it probably isn’t going to happen this season. However, if Pruitt rebuilds the Vols the right way, Tennessee could have a dominating run just like the TIde.
Now, you’re probably yelling that Pruitt has inside information and he knows how to beat Alabama from the inside out. And, I would agree. However, the talent level between the two teams isn’t close, yet.
It won’t be long until Pruitt, and the Vols are back on top of the SEC. Then we will be writing this piece ranking potential teams that have the best chance to beat the Vols. Who knows, it might be sooner than most people expect. If the 2019 class turns out to be a top ten class like we predicted back in May, the Vols could contend for the East next season.
