A three-star offensive lineman from Arizona Western Community College, Jahmir Johsnon initially committed to play for Rhode Island. After redshirting in 2016, he went to junior college in 2017. That’s where he was able to emerge onto the scene.

Johnson committed to Tennessee football after Pruitt took the job and was a clear target for the Vols. With the offensive line in flux and numerous questions about who is going to start where, his arrival is perfect timing.

At 6’5″ 285 pounds, Johnson may need some time to get bigger before seeing real action. After all, his true position is offensive tackle. As a result, it’s going to be difficult for him to make an impact just yet with the Vols.

However, again, he’s at a position that’s wide open for many of its spots. And even if he doesn’t start, there is plenty of room to get into the rotation. As a result, we have Johnson ahead of the unrated guys on this list.

His current build and recruiting rankings, though, make it hard for us to see him getting higher. Even making it into the offensive line rotation this year is an outside shot. After all, while the line has lots of questions, it also has lots of players. So the competition will be fierce.

But Jeremy Pruitt didn’t bring Johnson in without expecting him to help immediately. That was his focus throughout the junior college process, and there’s no reason to think it didn’t apply here. So keep an eye on how much the coaches use Johnson this year.
