No. 6 Quarterbacks

Getting the No. 6 ranking in this post is the quarterback group. The offensive line play could really influence how well the quarterback play. However, if the offensive line play is the same as last season, it could be another long year.

Key Players

Jarrett Guarantano – R/SO

Keller Chryst – R/SR

JT Shrout – FR

Jarrett Guarantano played with a lot of passion last season. Sure, he did not have the best attitude against Georiga Tech, and there are really no excuses. However, who knows what Butch Jones promised him.

His attitude did improve throughout the season, and he became a dependable leader for a struggling team. When the team gave up, he did not. People will rip Guarantano for his 4:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio but his numbers through the first six games of his career were better than Josh Dobbs’ first six games. So, do not give up on the kid yet.

There is also Keller Chryst, who is the grad transfer from Stanford. So far this fall, Chryst has not shown enough to win the starting job. In fact, the odds are in favor of Guarantano.

It will be interesting to see how this position battle shakes out throughout the rest of fall camp. Nonetheless, until they prove they are any better, they come in as the No. 6 best position group for the 2018 season.
