No. 2 Running Backs

A very exciting bunch of players, the running back position comes in second on our rankings. Maybe with a tad bit more experience, they could have ranked the best on the team.

Key Players

Ty Chandler – SO

Madre London – R/SR

Jeremy Banks – FR

Tim Jordan – SO

Trey Coleman – SO

Sophomore running back, Ty Chandler is poised for a breakout year. He was a fabulous number two, backing up John Kelly last season. He showed his talent in many games but none more than against Kentucky. In the game against Wildcats on October 28, Chandler received 22 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

Tim Jordan is another player that could make a lot of noise next season. He is an active runner and is getting a lot of first-team reps in fall camp.

And, then there is freshman Jeremy Banks. The 6-foot-1, 211-pounder is bigger, more physical style of runner. Banks is the type of running back that Jeremy Pruitt and Tyson Helton want.

It is safe to say that the Vols will use the running backs by committee. In fact, Pruitt seems like the type of coach to ride the hot hand. So, honestly, there is no telling what player steps up and makes the most of their opportunities.
