No. 1 Wide Receivers

Finally topping our ranking is the wide receiver group. This shouldn’t surprise anyone with the amount of talent they can put on the field at one time.

Key Players

Marquez Callaway – JR

Josh Palmer – SO

Latrell Williams – R/SO

Jauan Jennings – R/JR

Brandon Johnson – JR

Tyler Bryd – JR

When Jauan Jennings is on the field, he can take a lot of pressure off the quarterback. He is going to draw the best defenders and is going to free up some space for Marquez Callaway to do his thing.

Without Jennings, Callaway had to rise up and be the team leader last season. And, he did an okay job for his lack of experience. Callaway had 24 receptions for 406 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Both Josh Palmer and Brandon Johnson have shown they can be adequate options in the passing game. Johnson led the Vols with 482 receiving yards and tied with John Kelly with the most receptions (37) on the team.

And, then there is sophomore Latrell Williams. He has the speed. And, he could do a lot of damage from the slot position. He showed his flashiness in the Orange and White Game with a touchdown reception.

This group of wide receivers should be the most consistent group on the team and could easily be one of the best in the SEC.
