The Tennessee football season is only a few weeks away. There are some important sophomores to watch and could impact the 2018 season.

Plain and simple, the Tennessee football team is going to need a lot of guys to step up for this season to be successful. There is always talk about the ‘will to win’ or ‘knowing how to win.’ And, after a 0-8 record in the SEC, one of the questions is, does this Tennessee football team know how to win?

Some players on the team were a part of the back-to-back nine-win seasons the Vols put together under Butch Jones. However, these sophomores were not. They have only won four games in their careers.

If you take a look at the roster and as we have said many of times, this team has talent. If you take a closer look at the sophomores, there is a lot of talent. Some players could even change outcomes in many games.

This class might not go down as the best in recent years, but it has players that will see significant action this fall.

In this post, we are going to rank the most important sophomores for the upcoming 2018 football season. Now, of course, all the players play essential roles. Certain players might be role players or count as depth for the team, but they are still valuable.

The players on our list will be the players that can mean the difference in a win or a loss for the team. And, if they have good years so should the football team as a whole.
