No. 2 – Nigel Warrior, Defensive Back

One of the most underrated players on the 2018 squad is defensive back, Nigel Warrior. The 6-foot-0, 188-pounder is getting zero love from the national media. You can add the regional media to that list. Warrior was not voted for any All-SEC preseason team this season, which is absurd.

The only place Warrior is getting any love is Athlon Sports who ranked him as one of the top 50 most underrated players in college football.

Last season Warrior played in all 12 games and accounted for 83 total tackles. He also had one interception for a 70-yard return for a touchdown. On a team that gave up on the season, Warrior played hard and had a pretty good season.

Warrior was one of the headliners in the 2016 class. And, after his first season, he was voted to the All-SEC Freshman team. He should be one of the leaders for Jeremy Pruitt in his first year coaching. Warrior should also be vastly improved under the new leadership of coaches that can actually teach football.

If Warrior can play even better than last season, And if he can, maybe the defensive backs won’t be as questionable as a position as it is at the current moment.
