No.3 – Better rapport, leadership, and energy

Coming in at the number three ranking to why Jarrett Guarantano is a better option than Keller Chryst is because he has spent over a year with the wide receivers. He is a strong leader and plays with a lot of energy.

  • However, reports have surfaced that in many eyes, Chryst appears to be leading the way from practices and scrimmages as fellow editor, Caleb Calhoun mentioned.

But, that doesn’t mean the case is closed, it is still early. If Guarantano has proved anything, it is he is a fighter, and he won’t give up on his team.

Sure, people can point to the meltdown against Georgia Tech where he was pouting on the sidelines. However, I am willing to give him a pass based on who was coaching him. We have no clue what Butch Jones and the previous staff told him about playing time.

Furthermore, we saw a spark light in Guarantano when he got his chance to play. He was a leader for the team and played with 110 percent effort on every single play.

Remember the Alabama game? He was getting destroyed basically every single time he dropped back to pass, and yet there he was time and time again attempting to lead his team.

Chryst might be that same type of warrior. However, I personally feel the guys on the team already respect Guarantano and want to win for him and play with him.
