Tennessee football: Game by game predictions for Vols 2018 season
Game 12: Tennessee Volunteers at Vanderbilt Commodores
Saturday, Nov. 24; Vanderbilt Stadium; Nashville, Tenn.

Tennessee football has historically struggled with Vanderbilt on the road, believe it or not. That even goes back to the Phillip Fulmer days. Derek Mason’s defense will do enough to make this game ugly in Nashville.
However, the Vols won’t lose this one. They put an end to the Vanderbilt dominance in recent years in the series, winning four of six. Tennessee wins by a touchdown in a hideous outing reminiscent of the 2014 game to finish the regular season with a winning record.
Winner: Tennessee (7-5, 4-4)

The Vols end the season against the Vanderbilt Commodores, and that means they finish the season with a win.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, don’t get used to Tennessee football losing to Kentucky and Vanderbilt under the leadership of Pruitt. The Vols end the season on a four-game winning streak.
Winner: Tennessee (7-5, 4-4)
Garrett Sanders
At this point, Tennessee football is one game away from bowl eligibility with one game left. Jeremy Pruitt will have that in mind while game-planning. It’s win or go home, literally. Vanderbilt has beaten the Vols four out of the last six times, something Vols fans aren’t accustomed to.
Derek Mason could be on the hot seat in this game, and his players will know that. While Tennessee has more talent, they cannot get behind. Remember 2016? It is crucial the Vols keep their foot on the pedal. If they can do that, they will be on their way to postseason play in Pruitt’s first year.
Winner: Tennessee 6-6 (3-5)
So there are our predictions. The two editors have Tennessee football going 7-5 and beating the Florida Gators while splitting the South Carolina Gamecocks and Missouri Tigers. But they disagree on which game between those two they will win and lose. Meanwhile, contributor Garrett Sanders is a bit more pessimistic and has them going 6-6. But what about postseason play?
