Tennessee football is set to begin its new season under head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Here are our overall predictions for the 2018 national and SEC standings.

On Friday, we gave you our game-by-game predictions for the Vols 2018 season. Now, it’s time for us to preview the entire year. Sure, the college football season officially began this past Saturday with six FBS schools playing. But none of those teams figure to have a national impact.

On Rocky Top, the conference and the national picture matter. We all projected Tennessee football to go 7-6 on the year, but they could definitely shock the world and exceed expectations. As always, there are plenty of teams who will. Which programs are we looking at?

In this post, we’re going to focus on three things: our projected SEC standings, each of our projected College Football Playoff match-ups and national champions, and our projected Heisman Trophy winners. All of that is set to begin with major games this week, and the excitement is finally taking over.

Our SEC standings will be based on the combine predictions we had for them. The predictors include the two All for Tennessee editors and contributor Garrett Sanders. We’ll also note who we predict to win the SEC Championship.

The next slide will feature the College Football Playoff match-ups each of us had and which bowl will host which teams. We’ll also document the winners and then note the teams that play for the national championship. And of course, we’ll each list our national champion.

Finally, for a little bit of fun, we’ll all list our Heisman Trophy winners. So we cover a bit of everything from a national perspective, and that’s what’s going to make this round of predictions exciting enough.

Who’s ready for the start of the season? How crazy is the feeling getting in Knoxville? Well, let’s add to it. These are all of our SEC, playoff and Heisman Trophy predictions for the 2018 college football season.
