Projected 2018 SEC Standings

SEC Championship: Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs

There wasn’t much excitement here. We all had a repeat of last year’s college football national championship in our SEC Championship game. As you can see, they got all the first place divisional votes on each side.

However, there was a split on who would win. Garrett Sanders picked the Dawgs, but the other two of us picked Alabama. Since there was a 2-1 difference, Alabama got the tiebreaker. They will end their streak of not winning the SEC at one year.

We also had the LSU Tigers and Texas A&M Aggies tied with eight votes, which will be curious to a few people. How could that result in Texas A&M being ahead of LSU? Well, once again, we used a tiebreaker, and two of us had A&M ahead, so Jimbo Fisher’s first team got the nod.

The elephant in the room is Tennessee football. How could the Vols be third in the division? It actually comes down to how weak the East is this year. Nobody is that loaded outside of Georgia, which is why the South Carolina Gamecocks were able to come in second in our predictions. Other contenders for second were the Florida Gators and Missouri Tigers.
