After the worst season in Tennessee football history, we have some bold predictions for 2018 season. Spoiler alert: The Volunteers might be better than people think.

The 2018 Tennessee football season kicks off in five days. The wait is almost over, come September 1 every fan can spit out the bitter taste of the worst season in program history.

It is a new season. A fresh start. A new coach is at the helm with a proven SEC defensive coordinator track record, in Jeremy Pruitt. Pruitt has already shown he knows what it takes to win at a high level and has coached under Nick Saban.

Practices are running differently. Players are strength training and conditioning differently. Even, the jerseys are going to look different. So, if you were sick of Butch Jones and his gimmicky ways, you are loving that Pruitt is the man to help make Tennessee football great again.

Let’s face it; last year was a train wreck. But, despite just how bad it turned out, the Vols could have beaten Florida and South Carolina.

In this post, we are going to give our five bold predictions for the upcoming season. Remember these are bold. Saying that I think the Vols will beat Vanderbilt isn’t bold, even though the Commodores have beaten the Vols in three of the last five seasons.

Okay, enough of the negativity, we are turning the page. Pruitt might shock the world and be the first assistant to beat Nick Saban. Okay, that would be bold, maybe too bold. Or is it?
