The Tennessee football season and the start of the Jeremy Pruitt era is just three short days away. Here are five Mountaineers to watch for in the game.

Its time, the 2018 Tennessee football season is set to begin in Charlotte, NC on Saturday. However, it will not be an easy first game for the program. West Virginia comes into the game ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP Poll.

There is a lot of hype surrounding this edition of the Mountaineers. There are even a couple of college football’s so-called ‘experts’ that have West Virginia in the College Football Playoff. One being ESPN’s Desmond Howard who has the Mountaineers beating Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Another ESPN’s employee thinks West Virginia is one of ten early teams that should be considered to play in the playoffs. Adam Rittenberg believes the Big 12 is going to be wide open and with the Mountaineers have one of the best passing attacks in the nation, they could be a team to watch.

Speaking of that passing attack. In this post, we are going to take a look five players to watch that could be the difference in a win or loss. Fellow editor, Caleb Calhoun wrote an article yesterday giving the five Volunteers to watch. This post is all about the Mountaineers.

If Jeremy Pruitt and company and slow down the West Virginia offense and a couple of their key players, Vol fans might be celebrating a Tennessee win. However, that is easier said than done.
