Tennessee vs. West Virginia weather report: Rain in the forecast
There could be rainfall at the Tennessee vs. West Virginia game. Here is the weather report for Charlotte for Saturday when the Vols play the Mountaineers.
The 2018 Tennessee football season is only one short day away. We all know the Vols will take on the Mountaineers in Charlotte, NC where there could be rain in the forecast. How does the weather impact the Vols chances to win?
Look, no one wants to watch a football game in the pouring rain. Remember the LSU game last season in Knoxville? It was miserable. Now, the weather forecast doesn’t support that hurricane, but it does call for rain.
If it does rain before and during the game that could mean good news for the Volunteers. West Virginia and Will Grier are going to throw the ball all over the field especially against a young Tennessee secondary.
Here is a breakout of a few hours before and during the game.
2:00 pm – 88 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 40 percent chance of rain.
Kickoff at 3:30 pm – 88 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 35 percent chance of rain.
4:00 pm – 88 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 35 percent chance of rain.
5:00 pm – 87 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 15 percent chance of rain.
6:00 pm – 85 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a 5 percent chance of rain.
Unless anything changes, it doesn’t appear the weather is going to have that much of an impact on the play calling or the level of play on the field. You can see there is a chance of rain and if Charlotte is anything like Knoxville a 40 percent chance of rain means it will pour.
So, bring the rain jackets just in case and plan for the worst. That will make it that much better if the rain stays away and there are perfect conditions for the first game in Jeremy Pruitt’s tenure as head coach.
