Tennessee football: 4 bold predictions for the Vols vs. ETSU
No. 3 – Jarrett Guarantano will throw for at least 235 yards
Will all the Jarrett Guarantano haters, please shut up and sit down? Yeah I know he isn’t passing for 429 yards and five touchdowns like Will Grier. But, who is? And, quite frankly, Guarantano didn’t have the opportunity to.

19-of-25 for 172 passing yards and one touchdown with zero interceptions is what the Vols got out of their starting quarterback on Saturday. What is to hate about that? I mean seriously.
For this prediction, Guarantano will throw for at least 235 yards before taking rest on the bench while the coaching staff gives backup Keller Chryst a turn. If you’re laughing, you should stop.
Guarantano has a strong arm and can make all the throws. And, on Saturday against a much improved West Virginia defense, he made sound decisions.
I think Guarantano has a couple of 200 plus passing performances this season as he locks down the starting job.
235 yards would put him right around his career-high of 242 yards which came against the Kentucky Wildcats last season.
This year’s football team is going to be much improvement, and if he could do it last year, Guarantano will do it again this year.
