No. 2 Clemson Tigers at Texas A&M Aggies

Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.; Kyle Field; College Station, Texas

TV: ESPN; Line: Clemson -12; Over/Under: 54.5

Garrett Sanders

This game will be a very entertaining one to watch. If you’re a Clemson fan. Clemson’s D-Line will penetrate the Texas A&M Aggie O-Line all night long. There will be no open holes to run for Trayveon Williams, and Kellen Mond will be running for his life. All. Game. Long.

Even if Clemson’s Offense struggles, they will eventually find the creases to wrinkle it out. I don’t expect this game to live up to the hype that everyone else is feeling. This game is going to get ugly, real quick.

The Jimbo Fisher era got off to a great start with a 59-7 win against Northwestern State. Now to the real world. In the second game of his tenure, his Aggies take on the No. 2 team in the land, Clemson Tigers.

Talk about a tough test. The only positive is the Aggies are at home, and it’s a pretty good home field advantage. However, the fans can only do so much. It comes down to the talent on the field and the Aggies don’t have enough.

The Texas A&M Aggies showed promise in Jimbo Fisher’s debut, but it was only against an FCS school. Now, they have a real test against a Clemson Tigers team that is simply loaded. A win here would be a huge statement for Fisher and co., and he has the offensive mind to beat anybody. He is also very familiar with Dabo Swinney, so watch out.

For the game, I have Clemson winning. On the spread, this one is exceedingly tough. It’s really a toss-up, but I’m going to give the edge to A&M. Fisher has some talent to work with this year, and until phoning it in last year, he had great matches with Swinney. Take the Tigers and the points on the over/under, but take Texas A&M to cover.

Clemson: 35 Texas A&M: 28 (Texas A&M +12; Over)
