Tennessee football vs. UTEP: 5 Miners to watch for against Vols
Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee football team host the UTEP Miners on Saturday. Here are five Miners to watch for in the game.
Tennessee football is looking for their second straight win of the 2018 season. I’m not trying to case a jinx on the Volunteers, but the UTEP Miners are heading into Neyland Stadium on a 14-game losing streak. I’m giving the Miners a three percent chance. And, that’s only because their head coach’s name is Dana. We’ve already seen what one Dana did to the Vols.
Time to get serious. The Miners don’t have a chance. In fact, Tennessee should hang at least 50 points on a pathetic rushing defense. UTEP is giving up around 260 rushing yards per game which rank them 118 in the nation.
On the other hand, they aren’t giving up a lot through the air. The Miners rank 31st in the nation only giving up 165 passing yards per game. They have two defensive backs that have enough talent to be considered for the NFL.
One scary part of UTEP is they have a quarterback that is a dual-threat, and it always seems like quarterbacks that can move with their feet give the Vols problems.
In this post, we are going to break down the top five UTEP Miners to watch for against the Volunteers. Although the game is a 30-point spread, these five players should at least make somewhat of an impact.
