No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 15 TCU Horned Frogs

Saturday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m.; AT&T Stadium; Arlington, Texas

TV: ABC; Line: Ohio State -13.5; Over/Under: 60

TCU has a great team. They should have the talent to keep this game close. But remember the 2017 Big XII Championship Game against Oklahoma? Everyone thought the Horned Frogs could do it then too. What happened? They got blown out.

The matter of the fact is, the Ohio State Buckeye offense is something special. While TCU has a talented defense, the Ohio State offense will be too much. At the end of this game, it will show why.

This game should be a dandy. Ohio State comes in as a 13.5 point favorite though. If you are keeping up with our picks, I had TCU in the playoffs at the start of the season. Mainly to take a flyer, but the Horned Frogs have a tough defense.

There is no chance the Buckeyes hang 77 on a Gary Patterson defense. There is also the fact the game is in Arlington, TX so a big TCU crowd should be expected.

It’s hard for me to go against TCU but Ohio State looks really good. Plus one loss won’t end their playoff chances.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are clearly a program on a mission given the Urban Meyer drama. At least Tennessee football isn’t dealing with it under Greg Schiano now. Anyway, neither team has beaten anybody of substance yet, and they’ve both looked dominant in their openers. On top of that, both teams have lost a lot of production from last year, making this a game that’s wide open.

Nobody knows anything about this game based on what I’ve told you, and anybody who says otherwise is lying. Meyer and Gary Patterson both know how to maximize talent, and while Meyer has more of it, Patterson is the one coaching on the field Saturday. But Meyer gets to fully prepare for the game, so I like the Buckeyes to win. But take TCU to cover, and take the under with Patterson’s defense.
