Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs

Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:15 p.m.; Sanford Stadium; Athens, Ga.

TV: ESPN2; Line: Georgia -33.5; Over/Under: 54.5

Georgia’s win against South Carolina impressed me. They will however have more trouble with Middle Tennessee State. In the end, it doesn’t matter. I expect Georgia’s offense to do their thing early on, have their defense cone out and smack the Blue Raiders in the mouth, and put this game away by halftime.

Middle Tennessee won’t be able to move the ball and their defense won’t stop this Georgia attack. The Bulldogs will have their younger players out getting experience and depth that they will need for future SEC opponents.

The Bulldogs looked like the same team from last year. I will admit, I thought the Gamecocks were going to put up a better fight but they didn’t. They couldn’t.

Actually, it was close for a while but Georiga looked like an old Alabama team. Controlling the game the entire time, just can’t pull away by more than 14 points and than out of nowhere it turns into a blowout.

The Georgia Bulldogs showed everybody just how dominant they still are after blowing out the South Carolina Gamecocks this week. However, I think that has more to do with S.C. being overrated overall, as the SEC East as a whole is weak, including Tennessee football. Anyway, that could make hosting the MTSU Blue Raiders interesting, especially with the distractions of Hurricane Florence moving this game to noon.

All of those things could be reason to pick against the Dawgs covering. I’m not doing it, though. They got me good enough last week, and even with a potential letdown, their offense will dominate on Saturday. Georgia wins a blowout and covers that huge spread. Take the over as well.

Georgia: 52 Middle Tennessee: 14 (Georgia -33.5; Over 54.5)
