NFL Football: Former Vols vs. Week Two of the NFL season DraftKings edition
Hard to believe we are in Week Two of the NFL season already. We have your DraftKings coverage when it comes to former Vols in the NFL.
I don’t know about you but playing fantasy football on DraftKings is far superior to regular fantasy football. Now if they could find a way to incorporate punters in your lineup, you could have a ton of options of former Vols to play.
As always, we are going to cover a handful of former Vols that could make you a lot of money in a DraftKings contest.
Quarterback
Bills – Nathan Peterman $4,300
You do not want Nathan Peterman on your team. Last week against the Ravens, Peterman went 5-of-18 for 24 yards with two interceptions. That performance was good enough to earn you -0.94 points if you played Peterman last week. Honestly, that might be the worst performance I’ve ever seen.
There is also the fact that Peterman is the backup for week two as the Bills named rookie Josh Allen as the starting signal-caller for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. So, again, you don’t want Peterman on your team.
Running Back
Saints – Alvin Kamara $9,500
Former Vol Alvin Kamara is arguably the most dynamic running back in the NFL. In the 48-40 loss to Tampa Bay last Sunday, Kamara rushed for 29 yards on eight attempts with two touchdowns. He also brought in nine catches on 12 targets for 112 yards and one touchdown. Kamara scored a DraftKings high 46.1 fantasy points for the opening weekend of the NFL.
The Saints play the Browns on Sunday and Kamara would be a for sure play. However, his price tag is awfully high. If you play Kamara this week just know you are going to have to take a chance on two lower-priced players.
Wide Receiver
Steelers – Justin Hunter $3,000
If you want to play Alvin Kamara this week, you could pair him up with former Vols wide receiver Justin Hunter. Sure, last week he only scored 1.6 fantasy points on DraftKings, but he played significant snaps.
He only played 12 fewer snaps than fellow wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Hunter was targeted five times, and it wasn’t his fault he didn’t haul in the catches. Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t on his game and missed a lot of throws.
Pittsburgh plays Kansas City on Sunday, and the Chiefs can give up yard through the air to opposing quarterbacks. It wouldn’t surprise us if Hunter at some point this season has a double-digit touchdown game.
Tight End
Bills – Jason Croom $2,500
At the $2,500 price tag, it might be worth taking a look at Jason Croom. Josh Allen will be making his NFL debut and will look to dump the ball off to the running backs and tight ends against the Chargers.
He is getting second-string duties behind Charles Clay so he should see a meaningful number of snaps to justify the cheap price tag. Last week Croom had two receptions on three targets for 18 yards.
As always we will recap how former Vols played in week two. Will the $9,500 price tag for Alvin Kamara be worth it? It’s tough to tell, but I am going to take that chance and you should too.
