No. 2 – Keller Chryst will throw for more yards than Jarrett Guarantano

We are through two games on the season, and there are still a lot of questions about the 2018 Tennessee football team. Some of the fanbase still isn’t sold on Sophomore quarterback Jarrett Guarantano.

  • If you compare his numbers to last year, they are much improved. He is completing 71 percent of his passes compared to just 61 percent last season.

If Guarantano plays in all 12 regular season games, he is on pace to throw close to 2,000 yards.

I’ve been behind Guarantano for a while now. That doesn’t make me a homer; I just think he is the best option at quarterback. And, he is nowhere close to the reason why Tennessee went 4-8 last season.

However, this post is about bold predictions and for tomorrows game against UTEP, we are saying backup Keller Chryst will throw for more passing yards than Guarantano.

This is very bold. Chryst has only attempted three passes in the first two games. He is 3-of-3 for 70 yards and one touchdown. The yards are sort of skewed. 50 of them came when he connected with a wide-open Jordan Murphy streaking down the sideline against ETSU.

Both Guarantano and Chryst will have over 100 yards passing, but for our third bold prediction, Chryst will end up with more.
