No.1 – Vols score at least 50 points…again

Tennessee scored 59 points last week against East Tennessee State. And, for our number one bold prediction, we think the Vols do it again. Scoring 50 points in back to back games isn’t something that happens that often in Knoxville.

In recent years, the Vols have scored 40 plus point in back to back games multiple times. In 2016 they had a stretch of games where they scored 55 against Tennessee Tech, 49 against Kentucky, and 63 against Missouri.

In 2015, Tennessee had back to back performance against Vanderbilt and Northwestern where they scored 53 and 45 points respectfully.

However, you have to go all the way back to 2010 to find back to back 50 point games. On November 6, 2010, the Vols beat Memphis 50-14 and followed that win a week later with a 52-14 win against Ole Miss.

Believe it or not, the Vols have the firepower on offense to score 50 points again. They have four SEC caliber running backs and a set of an incredibly talented group of wide receivers.

I think it will be harder to score 50 points on UTEP than it was against East Tennessee State only because eyes and minds will be on the game next week when the Florida Gators come to town.
