Tennessee football vs. Florida: 5 Gators to watch for against Vols

Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee football team host the Florida Gators on Saturday. Here are five Gators to watch for against the Vols.

Welcome to Tennessee-Florida week. This game means so much to both football programs. It wouldn’t matter if both teams were coming off a ten-game losing streak, this game would get a lot of buzz around the nation. It’s Tennessee and Florida.

However, some folks around the nation might be wondering what is the big deal in the rivalry. This game used to mean so much in the SEC Eastern division standings. Now, not so much. The Vols have only beaten the Gators four times in the past 18 tries. It gets worse when you cut it down to the past 13 years; the Vols only have one win.

Tennessee football fans don’t want to hear this but is Tennessee-Florida even considered a rivalry anymore? I still say yes because the overall series is still within ten games. The Gators are leading the series 27-20.

The Gators haven’t looked impressive this season. They are 2-1 on the season with a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. Yes, Kentucky finally beat Florida in football. That is the first time in 31 years! I wasn’t even alive the last time Kentucky beat Florida in football.

In this post, we are going to break down the top five Florida Gators to watch for against the Volunteers. Although both teams aren’t the powerhouses they used to be, this is still an important game. These five players should at least make somewhat of an impact on the game. If Tennessee can limit their success, they should have an excellent opportunity to get the win.
