No.4 – Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Defensive back

Already a thin secondary coming into the season, arguably the Gators best defensive back Marco Wilson went down with a season-ending injury. You would think the Vols have a clear advantage with the wide receiver versus the Gator defensive backs, which they very well might. However, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is having an outstanding season and could make a difference maker in the game.

The junior defensive back has accounted for 20 tackles in just three games this season. He also has two sacks coming off the edge. He has failed to have an interception yet, but in his first two seasons, he accounted for five with one touchdown.

Gardner-Johnson makes our list for another reason other than his play on the field. He likes to talk that trash, or at least he did before Kentucky beat the Gators. Before the game against the Wildcats, Gardner-Johnson was quoted saying, “It’ll be 32 after Saturday.” Of course, he was talking about the winning streak Florida had against Kentucky.

You know what Vol plays well when Florida defensive backs run their mouths? Jauan Jennings. This should be a fun and entertaining matchup to watch. Fingers crossed he gets matched up with Jennings throughout the game.
