The Gators rushing attack is not good. All things considered, it’s flat-out awful. Florida ranks 63rd in the nation in rushing offense with 185.0 yards per game.

  • If you remember before the season started, I wrote a post on five SEC players the Vols need to watch out for this season. Scarlett was one of them, and right now he is proving me wrong. I’m not afraid to admit that.

On the season, Scarlett has 105 rushing yards on 19 carries with one touchdown. I expected a lot more from him at this point in the season.

The Vols currently have four running back with over 100 rushing yards on the season compared to Florida’s two. However, I’m not ready to give up on Scarlett just yet.

What happens in almost every single Tennessee football game? Somehow, someway they make someone look like a Heisman trophy winner. There is a countless number of backup quarterbacks that looked like Peyton Manning against Tennessee.

Scarlett rushed for 889 yards as a sophomore, so he is more than capable of performing at a high level. The Vols defense has looked rather impressive the past two games. Was that a fluke, or will they be able to shut down the Gators rushing attack and win the game? Keeping Scarlett quiet will be a good start.
