Tennessee football vs. Florida: 5 Gators to watch for against Vols
No.1 – Feleipe Franks, Quarterback
Finally, coming in at the number one ranking of our top five Gators to watch this Saturday is quarterback Feleipe Franks. Don’t get us wrong; Franks isn’t that good even though at times he has shown he can be a very productive SEC quarterback.
Remember what happened last year in Gainesville? Of course, you do, how could any Vol fan forget? With only seconds to go in a tie game, Franks drops back and launches a 63-yard bomb to Tyrie Cleveland in the end zone. Look, it was a busted defensive play, but I give Franks a lot of credit, it was a perfect pass.
So far this season he has attempted 77 passes with 41 completions for a 53.2 completion percentage. He has also thrown for nine touchdowns with two interceptions.
Again, Franks isn’t an impressive quarterback, but he has two things going for him. Dan Mullen and a young Tennessee secondary. Historically Dan Mullen has been great with quarterbacks, so only time will tell when it will click with Franks. Could it be against Tennessee?
If the Vols defense can put pressure on Franks he will snap and turn the ball over. If they can make thay happen there is no chance the Gators can score enough points to overcome a couple of turnovers. Stop Franks and the Vols win the game.
