No.1 – Better offensive line play

No surprise here but the offensive line takes our number one spot in our rankings. I’m not sure how the Vols continue to have one of the worst offensive lines in the entire nation, but they do. Probably even worse than Florida State.

If you look up sacks allowed, you won’t be too bummed out. The offensive line has only given up five sacks on the year, but that’s mainly because Tennessee is running the ball more. And, quarterback Jarrett Guarantano has matured tremendously.

Tennessee ranks 111th in the nation giving up six tackles for loss a game. Here are the teams around the same ranking as the Vols: South Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Tulane, Georgia State, and Eastern Michigan.

Where are games won in the SEC? I don’t have to answer that because everyone knows. Tennessee flat out has to get better on the offensive line, or they don’t stand a chance. Jarrett Guarantano is playing out of his mind to even give the Vols a shot to win.

Honestly, I don’t think it is too farfetched to say if the offensive line doesn’t improve, the Vols could be staring at a 3-9 season and winless in the SEC.
