Tennessee football: Week 4 Vols, SEC and Top 25 predictions
Unanimous gambling picks
Georgia -14.5 at Missouri
We all agree that the Georgia Bulldogs may have their toughest test this week against the Missouri Tigers as far as SEC East teams go. However, we also agree Mizzou is not even that good. So despite Drew Lock’s impressive numbers, it’s likely the Dawgs cover their two-touchdown spread.
Ole Miss -28.5 vs. Kent State
This may be a risk for all of us. The Ole Miss Rebels could look a bit sluggish coming out the gate after losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide so badly last week. However, you have to believe they’ll rebound, and Kent State is a bad enough team for this high-powered offense to run the score up agains.
Texas A&M at Alabama, the Over 61
One of us is crazy enough to again bet against the Alabama Crimson Tide on the spread, even though they’ve covered with ease their first three weeks. However, their offense right now and the Texas A&M Aggies’ improving offense under Jimbo Fisher means that there will be lots of scoring, so we all agree on the over.
South Carolina at Vanderbilt, the Under 54.5
The South Carolina Gamecocks have a questionable offense still. And their defense is elite despite struggling against the Georgia Bulldogs. Meanwhile, the Vanderbilt Commodores have proven their defense through three games under Derek Mason. And Kyle Shurmur is efficient but doesn’t lead a high-powered attack. So it’s safe to say this game will hit the under, and we all agree on it.
Mississippi State -10 at Kentucky
Despite the Kentucky Wildcats’ 3-0 record, we all agree the schedule is a bit iffy. Even beating the Florida Gators in The Swamp this year is questionable. Meanwhile, the Mississippi State Bulldogs have blown through everybody. So until UK proves more, it’s a pretty solid bet among all of us to pick them to cover a 10-point spread this week.
Auburn -30 vs. Arkansas
I mean, could you get an easier bet? The Auburn Tigers, despite last week’s loss, are still a Top 10-caliber team. And they are playing host to maybe the worst team in SEC history in the Arkansas Razorbacks. So even with a 30-point spread, they cover easily.
Stanford at Oregon, the Under 56
We disagree on the outcome of this match-up. But the Stanford Cardinal have always slowed the game down when these two go head to head. Also, the Oregon Ducks haven’t really proven yet that they have a high-powered offense like the ones of the past. So the under was easy here.
Tennessee +4.5 vs. Florida, the Under 46.5
Yes, we all agree on the Tennessee football outcome this weekend. The Florida Gators have the worse loss, and neither team has a good win yet. Meanwhile, Florida is coming to Knoxville for the game as four and a half point favorites. That seems like a bit too high of a line, especially after they won last year at home off a Hail Mary. So the upset pick was a pretty obvious one, and the bet on the spread was easy. We also know both offenses have looked ugly. Tennessee football and the Gators will have a low-scoring affair. As a result, we all agree on taking the Vols and the under.
