Hopefully, the Oregon Ducks are for real and can make this a game. There are very few games I stay up to watch from the Pac-12 but this will be one of them.
I know both teams are undefeated but I was stunned that it was only a 1.5-point spread. I underestimated Stanford at the start of the season. I don’t want to get ahead of myself but could Stanford make the playoffs?
Stanford has won the last two meetings between the two teams. Oregon is 7-2 with College GameDay is in Eugene. Something has to give.

Overall, both of these teams are overhyped. However, Stanford has the better quality wins than the Ducks. Bryce Love has been a disappointment so far. Hopefully, he will show that he still has the capability of being a Heisman hopeful. But ultimately, it will be Justin Herbert’s day to shine.
I expect this game to be a very high scoring affair for the Ducks. Their offense has shown me that they are more ready for this game than Stanford’s. Defensively for the Ducks, the main concern is to stop Love. Love has been stopped all season. There is no doubt in my mind Oregon will find a way to do just that.

The Stanford Cardinal were always the team to humble the Oregon Ducks earlier in the decade. David Shaw’s system just knew how to slow down what Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich were doing. Then Oregon fell off altogether, but with a 3-0 start, they may be back. Playing Stanford at home on a Saturday evening may be just the game they need to truly get their mojo back.
All due respect to Mario Cristobal and the Ducks, they haven’t arrived yet. This team wasn’t able to put away an 0-3 San Jose State Spartans team the way they needed to, so there’s no reason to have faith in them against the Cardinal. Oregon is not ready for this stage yet, so Stanford will control the game and play at their pace. And they’ll pull out the win.
