Temperatures are going to be in the mid-70s when the Volunteers take on Florida. Here is the weather report from Knoxville for Saturdays Tennessee football game.

Say it ain’t so. Please say it ain’t so. I genuinely hate to be the one to tell you this, but in typical 2018 Tennessee football fashion, there is a chance for Thunderstorms for the game. I’m not even kidding about this.

The weather report isn’t pretty for game time but let’s hope for just a pop-up, or maybe it will miss Neyland Stadium completely. Fingers crossed. Can’t we watch one game without a lightning delay?

Here is how the weather forecast shakes out for the moment.

4:00 pm – 86 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a 15 percent chance of rain.

5:00 pm – 85 degrees with isolated thunderstorms and a 35 percent chance of rain.

6:00 pm – 82 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 45 percent chance of rain.

Kick off at 7:00 pm – 78 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 50 percent chance of rain.

8:00 pm – 75 degrees with scattered thunderstorms and a 45 percent chance of rain.

9:00 pm – 73 degrees with a few showers and a 35 percent chance of rain.

10:00 pm – 72 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain.

11:00 pm – 71 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 15 percent chance of rain.

Other than the hour before the game, kickoff, and the hour after the game, it should be a reasonably lovely Saturday for tailgating. Temperatures won’t be too hot, dare I say early staging of Fall?

One thing is for sure; the is no chance a 50 percent chance of rain scares away what should be a deafening Tennessee crowd.

I’m no meteorologist but if you have tickets to the game and you want to go don’t like the slight chance of rain push you away. It will feel great outside by the fourth quarter, and you never know, maybe feel even better with a Tennessee win. They are 1-0 at home with a lightning delay.
