Tennessee football host the Florida Gators Saturday night for the first conference game of the 2018 season. Here is the Vols’ streaming, game time and television info.

It’s Tennessee football. It’s Florida football. And, it’s football time in Tennessee. Historically, this game has gone a long way in determining the SEC Eastern division race. Now, both programs have struggled a bit in the recent past, but this game still means a lot in the rivalry and for bragging rights.

However, Florida has had the bragging rights basically for the past 30 years. Objectively looking at it, I’m sure some people around the nation question why Vol fans even view this as a rivalry game. Look, I’m not trying to put a kill the buzz of the day but here is how the series looks from the past 30 years.

Past 5 games: Vols 1-4

Past 10 games: Vols 1-9

Past 15 games: Vols 3-12

Past 20 games: Vols 5-15

Past 25 games: Vols 5-20

Past 30 games: Vols 7-23

To make it sound worse, Vanderbilt has the same record (5-15) against Tennessee the past 20 games as the Vols have against Florida in the same amount of games.

However, there is some good news. In the last three losses to Florida have only been by a combined eight points. So, the games have been close, and this one should be as well.

Here is all the information you need for the Vols’ game vs. West Virginia.

VIEW OF THE VOLS

Record: 2-1, 0-0 SEC

Last 3: 2-1

Last 5: 2-3

Tennessee has started the season the way everyone thought they would with a 2-1 record. Neither the ESTU or UTEP game is considered a good win, but the Vols did win the games.

The rushing attack has been great despite the horrible offensive line play. Tennessee has four guys that can go off and impact the game. It appears all four guys bring something different to the field and can really make it hard on defenses. Tim Jordan leads the way with 232 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is having a solid season. So far this season he is 39-for-54, 494 passing yards,72.2 passing percentage, 2:0 touchdown-interception ratio. That 72.2 passing percentage is high enough for second in the SEC.

VIEW OF THE GATORS

Record: 2-1, 0-1 SEC

Last 3: 2-1

Last 5: 3-2

The Gators are struggling this season, and the switch to Dan Mullen as head coach isn’t going a smooth as most fans would have liked. First the first time in basically forever, the Kentucky Wildcats went into Gainesville and beat the Gators in football.

Florida hasn’t been able to get their rushing attack going so far this season. They do have three players with over 100 yards rushing in three games, but it’s taken a lot of carries. Dameon Pierce leads the way for the Gators with 162 yards rushing on 14 attempts with one touchdown.

In a typical Dan Mullen offense, the quarterback looks great and a big reason for the team’s success. So far Feleipe Franks hasn’t reached that potential. He is 41-for-77, 570 passing yards, 53.2 passing percentage, 9:2 touchdown-interception ratio.

This should be a highly contested game that should come down to a big play in the fourth quarter. The past couple of years those plays have gone the Gators way. Can things chance at home for the Vols in what should be a rockous crowd?  We think so. Vols 20 Gators 17 OT.
