Tennessee football made a lot of mistakes in its 47-21 loss to the Florida Gators. But some players stood out. Here are the top five Volunteers performers.

There is plenty of blame to go around after Tennessee football’s embarrassing loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday. When you have six turnovers and give up a safety, it’s hard to defend the way you played as a whole.

However, as Jeremy Pruitt noted in the postgame, there were some players who didn’t quit. Many actually did everything they could to keep the Vols in the game, even if there was no game to remain in.

As a result, we still have a few helmet stickers, or Smokey Points, to give out following Tennessee football’s loss to Florida. There may be a lot of work to do and numerous areas of improvement, but it’s worth pointing out these players and the effort that they gave.

In fact, some of these guys would be on our list of players who have a lot of improving to do after Saturday’s game as well. There was plenty of blame to go around. But you have to credit certain guys for continuing to fight.

To be clear, regardless of what these guys did, the Vols lost another game to the Gators and have now dropped 13 of 14 to that team. The frustration of that series is past boiling point, no matter what the players do.

All members of the team are culpable in that loss. But who stepped up the most to try to avoid what happened? These are our top 5 Tennessee football performers in the Vols’ 47-21 loss to the Florida Gators.
