The LSU Tigers looked just ugly enough against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to drop one spot this week in our SEC Power Rankings. Look, in terms of quality wins, nobody is looking better than these guys considering the fact that they beat two Top 25 teams.

However, even if it is a letdown game following such a thrilling win the previous week, you’ve got to do better than 38-21 against a Conference-USA team. To be fair, LSU did build a 24-0 lead. But when they called off the dogs, their defense collapsed.

That raises questions about depth when it comes to navigating a brutal SEC season, and we’re going to have to find out more about these guys, despite what they’ve shown already. After all, it’s pretty clear that the first-team in Baton Rouge could probably beat anybody.

We just need to know about the rest of the group. Luckily for these guys, they have a pretty easy chance to get to 6-0 as their next two games are at home against the Ole Miss Rebels and on the road against the Florida Gators.

Then, to prove that they should stay in the national conversation ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide, they have the biggest game on their slate until then. It’s a non-divisional game against the next team in the SEC Power Rankings.
