Tennessee football faces the Georgia Bulldogs for its first road game of the year Saturday. Here are five Volunteers to watch for vs. UGA.

Welcome to life in the SEC. As Tennessee football tries to continue rebuilding under first-year head coach Jeremy Pruitt, they have to navigate a brutal schedule that only gets worse after their 47-21 blowout loss to the Florida Gators.

Up next for the Vols is a trip to Athens to play the Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart, whom Pruitt worked under for six years with Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide and replaced as Alabama defensive coordinator when Smart left for Georgia. The Dawgs are looking like a Saban-led team under Smart, dominating everybody and No. 2 in the country.

How’s that for a way to rebound from a crushing defeat? Well, the Vols don’t have any options, and they have to find advantages they can to win. Believe it or not, Tennessee football may have one thing going for it.

As we get set to break down the five key Vols to watch for against the Georgia Bulldogs, we’ll put a huge focus on two specific advantages, which you’ll notice pretty quickly. They might be enough to give UT a chance.

Let’s be clear. The Dawgs have way more talent. And if they win by 40, we won’t be the slightest bit shocked. But if they have an off-day, and the Vols’ system finally comes together, there are specific players who could make it a game.

So which players could exploit potential Georgia weaknesses? How many are even on the Vols roster? It’s time to find out who to put pressure on. These are the five Tennessee football players to watch for against the Georgia Bulldogs.
