Even after getting hurt last Saturday and struggling throughout the day, Jarrett Guarantano appears ready to go again for Tennessee football between the hedges this weekend. And it looks like another brutal outing for the young quarterback.

However, he has something working in his favor this week. The Georgia Bulldogs have been unable to generate a pass-rush throughout much of the year. If that were the case against the Florida Gators, Guarantano could have made lots more plays.

Should the issue continue to plague the Dawgs this weekend, Guarantano could have his first real chance to prove himself. When you factor in his big arm and reliable accuracy on midrange routes, a little more time could go a long way towards his development.

Add in Guarantano’s mobility, and a lack of pass-rush from the opposition could be just what he needs to be effective. At the very least it could help cut down on turnovers. As a result, Guarantano as the quarterback is naturally a crucial player for the Vols in this game. But he has an even bigger role now in hopes of using his talents amidst Georgia’s weaknesses. He’ll need some help, though, which leads to our next key player.
