Will Muschamp lamented the fact that his team abandoned the running game when the South Carolina Gamecocks lost to the Georgia Bulldogs. Jeremy Pruitt and Tyson Helton have made sure to stay committed to the running game no matter what happens in the game. They showed that Saturday against the Florida Gators.

As a result, Tennessee football’s rushing attack will be huge Saturday. We already talked about the issues with Georgia’s defensive line and the Vols trying to get their offensive line to come together. It’s also worth noting the Dawgs’ weakness at stopping a consistent rushing attack.

These guys did give up 172 yards on the ground to the Missouri Tigers and 158 yards to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Against Mizzou, it was Damarea Crockett, a power back, who was the star on the ground, gaining 67 yards on just 13 carries and scoring a touchdown.

What’s clear is that with so much youth, power can weigh down the Dawgs’ defense into the second half. Madre London is the guy to make sure this happens. London has supplanted himself as the top power back, even though Jeremy Banks is a very good backup.

As a veteran, this is London’s chance to prove himself. He was the star back for the Vols against the Florida Gators, and a different one has stepped up each week. But London is the guy who could give Tennessee football its biggest advantage on Saturday, at least offensively, against a loaded Georgia team.
