No. 7 Stanford Cardinal at No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. E.T.; Notre Dame Stadium; Notre Dame, Ind.

TV: NBC; Line: Notre Dame -5.5; Over/Under: 52

Caleb Calhoun

The Stanford Cardinal just got a thrilling victory over the Oregon Ducks and somehow have to rebound mentally for this week, facing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road. Meanwhile, Brian Kelly’s team is undefeated but wildly inconsistent, choosing every other week to look decent it seems like. They could look as bad as Tennessee football even does sometimes.

This is the week they look ugly. I’ve got my money on David Shaw and his ball control offense to take over. Bryce Love will take another step forward this week, and Notre Dame is simply not the offensive threat that Oregon is against a decent defense. So the Cardinal will get the victory and force ND to play their style. Take them and the under.

Stanford: 27 Notre Dame: 21 (Stanford +5.5; Under 52)

Garrett Sanders

Both of these teams have to be the most overrated undefeated teams in College Football. However, Stanford has the better resume than Notre Dame. Somehow, someway, the Cardinal stole a huge victory over Oregon last week on the road, Can they do it again this week?

Notre Dame seems to have the better advantage. They finally have their quarterback situation figured out. This is a problem for Stanford. Add to the fact that Bryce Love still hasn’t gotten anything going for Stanford, and it looks like this game could get out of hand for the Cardinal. Notre Dame will find a way to win this game and prove their not out of the Playoff conversation just yet.

Notre Dame: 24 Stanford: 10 (Notre Dame -5.5; Under 52)

Billy Williford

This might be one of the best weekends for college football. Another top ten matchup between Stanford and Notre Dame. It should be noted this is back-to-back ranked road foes for Stanford. If they can get past Notre Dame, they have to be top four, right?

New quarterback Ian Book looked great for the Irish last week throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. But, Stanford’s defense is better than Wake Forest, and he won’t be able to do that again.

Stanford’s running game hasn’t been the best this season, but K.J. Costello has proved he can make stuff happen with his arm. I got Stanford to win outright.

Stanford: 24 Notre Dame: 20 (Stanford +5.5; Under 46)
