Tennessee football travels to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Can they bounce back from losing to Florida? Here is the Vols’ streaming, game time.

It started way back in 1899 when the Tennessee football team took a 5-0 win against the Bulldogs for the first win in the series. Believe it or not, in 1903, the second game of the series, the Bulldogs beat the Vols 5-0.

The first 30-point win in the series came in 1910 when Georgia beat the Vols 35-3. However, Tennessee owns the bragging rights to the first 40-point win which came in 1936 with a 46-0 win.

It wasn’t until 1992 when the SEC divided into two divisions that this series saw an annual matchup. From that time, the Vols hold a 14-12 lead.

No surprise, but Georgia has owned the series recently winning six of the past eight games. However, Tennessee has won two of the last three. And, despite their recent woes, the Vols still hold a slight 23-22-2 series lead.

Last 5: 2-3

Tennessee comes into the game 0-10 in their last ten SEC games. Their last conference win came on November 19 against the Missouri Tigers.  And, the way they are playing, it could be another 0-8 season in conference play.

There is no putting it politely, last week against the Gators, Tennessee was horrible. The offensive line might be one of the worst lines in the history of the program. They can’t block anyone.

The defense isn’t much better. However, there is a lot of young guys playing, and you can actually see them giving effort. It’s the veterans that are giving up.

If Tennessee can get the running game going, that have the studs that can do some damage. They have four running backs with over 140 yards rushing on the season with over 30 carries.

Madre London and Jeremy Banks lead the group with three touchdowns apiece. Ty Chandler is leading the way with a 6.3 yard per attempt.

Record: 4-0, 2-0 SEC

Last 3: 3-0

Last 5: 4-1 (National Championship Game)

The Alabama of the East just keeps getting better. You know you’re good when you don’t play your best game, and you still beat a conference foe by 14 points.

Quarterback Jake Fromm ranks second in the SEC with a 72.5 completion percentage. He also has an impressive 9:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

I have to mention the Georiga running backs. Elijah Holyfield and D’Andre Swift have massive shoes to fill losing both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel to the 2018 NFL Draft. And, while the running game isn’t quite to that level yet, they are still putting up decent numbers.

Holyfield leads the Dawgs with 290 rushing yards on 36 carries with two touchdowns. Swift has been dealing with a nagging injury since the MTSU game but still has 190 rushing yards on 40 carries with two touchdowns.

Let’s be honest, if the Vols win it was because Georgia decided not to show up. That is the only way the Vols get the win.

I think you see a better effort from the Vols then what was given against the Gators once things got out of hand. However, effort alone won’t win the Vols the game.

Here is a fun fact to keep in mind and it’s good news for Volnation. In the history of the series, Georgia has never beat the Vols by 20 points or more in back-to-back seasons. Could the game be closer than people think? Georgia: 45 Tennessee: 13
