Five weeks into the season, and the three best teams in the country might be from this conference alone. So once again, our SEC Power Rankings are more about the national picture than anything else.
That seems to be a recurring theme in college football once October hits. Another recurring theme? Tennessee football somehow can’t make its way into that picture. After another blowout loss, things aren’t looking good on Rocky Top.
The Vols clearly did themselves no favors in our SEC Power Rankings, which you’ll see soon enough as we get set to deliver them. Even other losing teams managed to make a bit more of a case for themselves.
This week’s rankings feature only two teams who are in the same spots they were in last week. So things continue to move around after the second straight week in which the majority of conference teams played each other.
Now, with Oct. 1 here and Fall in full swing, the heart of the season has arrived. This is where the real fun begins, and get ready for a crazy four Saturdays of games coming up. Things are about to get crazy in this league, and that’s what it’s all about.
