Projected Starters

Cheridene Green – C; Senior; 6’3″; London England

Not only did the Tennessee Lady Vols lose Mercedes Russell and Jaime Nared, but they also lost Kortney Dunbar, one of their two key inside contributors off the bench. However, Cheridene Green was also one of the top contributors, averaging over four points and three and a half rebounds in less than 12 minutes of action.

This year, she should have the chance to prove herself as a full-time starter. One of the two players on the team from overseas on the team, Green is a redshirt senior. Her production last year combined with her experience should allow for her to make a major impact on games this year. The expectations are high, as she should be the one to fill the role of center.

Lou Brown – F; Senior; 6’3″; Melbourne, Australia

With the loss of Nared, Tennessee doesn’t really have that versatile forward who can stretch the floor by playing point at times. The only returning legitimate candidate to fill the role is Rennia Davis, but Holly Warlick probably wants to keep her at guard, especially with the dismissal of Anastasia Hayes. To keep that versatility, enter a graduate transfer in Lou Brown.

Brown spent the last four years with the Washington State Cougars and still has a year of eligibility left. She only averaged just under six and a half points and right at six rebounds last year, but after shooting 33.3 percent from three and 78 percent from the free throw line, she’s the inside player who can stretch the floor. Brown’s experience and efficiency make her the perfect complement to start alongside Green.
