  • It’s hard to stand out on an Alabama defense that typically ranks as one of the best in the nation, but that’s exactly what Wilson did in the 2018 National Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Wilson finished with 12 tackles, seven of them being solo. The Crimson Tide only gave up 23 points to the Bulldogs in overtime.

Only two teams Arkansas (31) and Texas A&M (23)  have scored over 20 points on the Tide this season. And, they have held two SEC teams to 10 points or less this season.

According to NCCA.org, the Crimson Tide have a top-15 defense by only giving up 315 yards to opposing offenses. Alabama has only given up an impressive 13 touchdowns on the year.

Mack Wilson is a huge reason why. He is the signal caller and an essential asset to the success of the defense. Wilson is athletic and can make it to the edge to stop the Tennessee running backs.

Tennessee did a great job mixing the run and pass against Auburn, and that is something they need to do to beat the Tide.
