Tennessee football vs. Alabama: 10 keys for Vols and Crimson Tide
Tennessee football and Jeremy Pruitt will try to upset Nick Saban and Bama Saturday. Here are 10 keys for the Volunteers and Tide at Neyland Stadium.
The Alabama Crimson Tide appear on a mission to become the best team of all time. Standing in their way is a Tennessee football team that can’t afford to be humbled right now. They gained too much confidence after a huge, program defining win over the Auburn Tigers the previous week in Jeremy Pruitt’s first season.
The Vols have to find a way to make this a game. And this is going to be a heck of a lot harder than you can imagine given what the Tide are doing right now. One game in which UT didn’t lose to a Power Five team by 26 points is not exactly going to change that.
Tennessee football is still a program with a ton of deficiencies looking for a major break against clearly the best team and the best coach in the country. Oh, and they have lost 11 straight to this program as well.
So what can they do? Well, the Vols are indeed playing at home. They also have a ton of momentum after such a big win over the Auburn Tigers last week, while Alabama can’t get excited about any win.
On top of that, a few weaknesses have been arising among the Tide in recent weeks, and the men in orange may have just the right combination of people to exploit them. After all, they only scored 39 last week and surrendered over 30 the week before. So we’re seeing some things.
Finally, maybe there’s a miracle coming down on Rocky Top. Hey, you never know. What we do know, though, is we are searching for a lot to find any way the Vols can stay in this game against Bama. Let’s go ahead and break down what has to happen. These are the 10 keys to Tennessee football’s match-up against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
