Tennessee football is a huge underdog against the Alabama Crimson Tide, and they should be. But here are five factors that give the Volunteers a crazy shot.

Is this getting carried away after Tennessee football scored such a hard-fought victory over the Auburn Tigers? Maybe it is. After all, that was only a 30-24 win, and it took the Vols forcing three turnovers to do it.

At this point, the Alabama Crimson Tide would probably blow Auburn out of the water. However, it is something to build off of on Rocky Top, and you have to get some confidence somewhere. So at 3-3 and with Nick Saban coming to town, the Vols are going to want to play like they have a chance at a major upset, even if they don’t.

Believe it or not, though, there are some things that may be working in Tennessee football’s favor. Yes, it sounds insane. But the Vols are headed back home with more factors at play that can help them than anybody else has had so far in facing the Tide.

So maybe it’s time to take a look at the things that could help UT specifically on Saturday. I know, I know. This could eventually become the greatest Alabama team of all time. However, it doesn’t hurt to look at a few things that may make them vulnerable, right?

Where’s the fun in just writing off every game, even if that’s what you’re supposed to do? They teach you not to do that, and regardless of the talent of either team, they both have to put 11 players on the field at a single time.

And when you have 22 guys out there, at least one advantage is likely to be on each side regardless of the teams’ disparities. So yes, there are a few on Rocky Top. And we’re going to break them down here. These are the five advantages that Tennessee football has over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday.
