Tennessee football heads to Columbia, SC to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. This rivalry has been close in recent years, and it should be the same this season. Here are five Gamecocks’ to watch.
Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee football team have the Alabama game in the rear view mirror. It wasn’t pretty, given the 58-21 loss, but it’s over, and the Vols look to get back on track as they travel to Columbia to take on South Carolina.
Tennessee is coming off a blowout loss but the season isn’t over, the odds aren’t in their favor, but the Vols could win out and finished the season 8-4. That would be a remarkable feat for Jeremy Pruitt and his coaching staff in year one of their tenure.
I know people would vote for Nick Saban and Dan Mullen, but if the Vols finished 8-4, Pruitt would surely deserve to be apart of the conversation for SEC Coach of the Year.
Switching gears, South Carolina is under year three with head coach Will Muschamp. The Gamecocks are 3-3 on the season, and most would say they are underachieving. Coming into the season, most media voters had South Carolina as the second best team in the SEC East.
The Gamecocks could still finish second, but they need to improve. And, that starts with the Vols. As always in this post, we are going to break down the top five South Carolina Gamecocks’ to watch against the Volunteers. We start on the defensive end with defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw.
