We talked about Tennessee football finally getting their run game back. Well, Tim Jordan was the most consistent guy to do that in the process. In the past, we’ve talked about Ty Chandler as the superstar flashy back. And he is.

However, Jordan is still the most consistent rusher, and that benefitted the Vols significantly Saturday night. For the game, Jordan had 12 carries for 62 yards, averaging over five yards a carry. He was the guy with the vision to take advantage of Eli Wolf’s blocking that we gave him so much credit for.

Meanwhile, the sophomore back had four receptions for 29 yards, so he had 91 yards overall on the day. And, most importantly, Jordan was part of that group of extra blockers not involving the offensive line. He was the guy that Jeremy Pruitt and Tyson Helton relied on to pick up blitzes, which was huge in the passing game.

So on top of racking up the stats he racked up, Jordan also gets the Eli Wolf treatment of earning credit for his blocking. Altogether, that’s more than enough to give him credit for his play Saturday night. The Vols could not blame his lack of running for their loss. Without a touchdown, he still did everything he could to win this game.
