Any time the Vols and Gators get together on the basketball court the game is important. Flordia has been surprisingly good at basketball in recent years. And, the Tennessee-Florida rivalry has been fun to watch.
The Gators return a few key players to last year’s 21-13 team that made the NCAA Tournament but lost in the Second Round. For starters, senior guard, KeVaughn Allen returns for his final season. Allen is one of those players that feels like he has been playing college basketball forever. He has averaged in double-digits all three seasons and shot 32.8 percent from the three-point line.
Fellow guard Jalen Hudson is back in Gainesville. He led the Gators in scoring last season at a pace of 15.5 per game. He played so well last year he won SEC Player of the Week three times.
The Gators might not quite be on the same level as the Vols, but anytime these two teams get together it’s a good game. Last season, the Vols won a close one in Knoxville with Grant Williams scoring 23 points.
