The Tennessee Volunteers have fallen back near the bottom of our SEC Power Rankings following Week 10 of the 2018 season.

The conference championship is set. But that does not mean the final standings throughout the league are, and the dramatic changes in our SEC Power Rankings this past week show just how quickly teams can move.

Tennessee football certainly embarrassed itself by looking ugly in a win against the Charlotte 49ers. So their fall here was evident. But with the two games that decided the East and West division champions over the weekend, lots of teams rearranged where they were.

Two teams lost to programs we had ranked below them before this past Saturday, so that alone was going to move our SEC Power Rankings around. The results of other games, even if predicted, also still had a huge impact.

Now, every team in the conference is done with its bye week, and this Saturday is the most important weekend in determining these rankings. Why is that? Because it’s the one weekend all season in which every SEC team plays another SEC team.

As a result, this weekend is going to have a huge impact on how the season shakes out for numerous teams, even if the top is clear-cut and uneventful. While seven teams are bowl eligible and six are in the Top 25, four teams in the league are one win away from bowl eligibility. Another two are hoping to find a way to get there with only four wins and three games left.

About 10 teams have a chance to finish the season in the Top 25, and there are obviously two in College Football Playoff contention. So with three weeks left, there’s a ton of excitement to cover. Let’s get ahead of that with our SEC Power Rankings following Week 10 of 2018.
