Well that was brutal. After a 5-2 start with their only losses coming to two of the three undefeated Power Five teams left, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers, reality has hit for Jimbo Fisher’s team. They clearly have a long way to go.

Honestly, it was coming before the back to back losses to the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Auburn Tigers. Remember, these guys had to squeak by the Kentucky Wildcats and South Carolina Gamecocks. So they were hanging on thin ice.

The last two weeks were just the house of cards tumbling down. And that resulted in them stumbling in our SEC Power Rankings from No. 2 to No. 7 to now No. 10. But it’s not all bad. Remember, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year in College Station anyway.

And coming up for the Aggies is a pretty decent slate. Their final three games are at home, starting with this weekend against the Ole Miss Rebels. Then they face the UAB Blazers. Those are two likely wins, so they should get to 7-5. Finally, a home game against the LSU Tigers is still very possible, so there’s no reason to think they can’t finish 8-4, which would be a great first year under Fisher.
